Mila is a performance, video and print media artist. Centring the notion of radical vulnerability at the heart of their practice, their work revisits places of discomfort, loss, violence and trauma in a quest to generate healing responses to pain. Their current research investigates the possibilities of making art about rape that move beyond individual autobiography towards a collective and intersectional understanding of sexual violence. Influenced by their work as an archivist, Mila is invested in practices of accumulation, displacement and repurposing.  They use research holistically, drawing on a multitude of sources, from oral history and the body, to mystery and symbolism, in an effort to question : what is research?
